Unforgettable Memory In My Life

This could be my last post of 2017

21st February 2017.

Alexandria, Egypt.

6.30 p.m.

After Maghrib Prayer.

I went to an eye clinic with my sister. We went there by taxi cost 20LE. My inner self become disorganized. Afraid. Happy. Tremble. I heard so many cases happened after the surgery, even, my sister had to undergo second surgery due to first surgical failure. My sister's friends undergo a very hard time in her life where she needs to wear the spectacles in her life and can't undergo any eye surgery.

I passed my second test

I wait for 10 minutes to register myself and wait for another 20 minutes for doctor to call my name. 20 minutes passed. The doctor's assistant ask me to sit and check either I can undergo the surgery or not. Alhamdulillah passed. I had been asked to go to the other room for the next test. Again, I passed. I have been given a set of surgical suite from head to toe and put in on my body. The doctor in charge, DR. Imad, the same doctor during my sister's surgery asked me to calm myself and don't be afraid cause when I feel afraid, the surgery might be canceled.

The doctor's assistant call my name and my sister assisted me in. I need to lie down on a bed, my arm had been locked and my head too, I can't move my head at all. The doctor put some fluids on my eyes and he set up a machine then put it on my eyes so now, guest what happen? I could not even blink my eyelid! That machine caused my eyes to open continuously so that the doctor can start the surgery. My fear come as the doctor said " Say Bismillah and I will start the surgery soon ".

After the doctor said that, I smell a scent where there is something being burned besides my head, I smell that. My fear increase. Start. I heard the machine's sound means that, the machine is ready to do it's job, thinning my cornea so that I could see the world without spectacles anymore. The surgery went on for a total of 5 minutes only, my body asked me to run away but I couldn't, cause my head had been locked and I have machine sticks on my eyes.

The surgery done. I have hollow spectacles on my eyes. My vision still blur and unclear. My sister hold my hands and we walk together. My eyes feel a bit itchy but I can't touch my eyes for three days and I also can't put any kind of fluids on my eyes. I have to meet the doctor again a day, a week and a month after surgery.

Before entering the operation theatre
You know my feeling, wearing spectacle for almost 14 years with those thick lens on my eyes. I even once pray that I want my eyes back, I want to see clearly without anything. I can't even feel how see the world s without spectacles cause I wear the spectacles since my childhood, I thanked to Allah cause gives me this opportunity to see his beautiful world again and thanks to my parents cause give their permission and trust to me to fly to Egypt alone and done this surgery. Now, almost one year I could see all the things without spectacles and this will be my unforgettable memory in my life.

I have a friend asked me if I undergo plastic surgery cause my face looks very different before and after wearing spectacles.

France to Switzerland

7 a.m : we reached Zurich, Switzerland from Paris by bus.

The woman at the information counter is helpless. We almost give up but lastly, we found tourist information center to get some information about our trip. On our way to hotel, I saw a lot of advertisement that shown a woman wearing niqab and some description in their language that I couldn't understand. I was very curious on that.

Then, we went to Dinosaur Museum, while at night, we went to Rhine Waterfall. The waterfall was very big and high. With the temperature -1 degree, we strengthen ourselves and we made it. We went back to hotel by train. The train that we ride was passing by in front of the waterfall, we could see the waterfall from far by riding the train, the scenery absolutely nice and memorable.

Waiting the train to come for 15 minute in -1 degree celcius temperature.
10 a.m : we reached Luzern, Switzerland. (the next day)

We decided to go to Mount Rigi. An hour riding the boat to the foot mountain of Mount Rigi give me a big chance to see Luzern Town from the far. A lot big houses built beside the mount, the clouds cover the mount's peak, the birds fly over the boat, the sky was so blue. On that boat, we met a Malaysian man. He was having a conference there but, he wanted to smell some fresh air from Mount Rigi. After almost an hour on the boat, we ride the old-British-train to go to the Mount Rigi peak. Taking photo session is compulsory. The temperature at the peak was 0 degree. After done our taking photo session, me and my sister, make a video call to our parents in Malaysia, they also got to see the view on live.

While waiting for the boat to come to bring us back to the Luzern city.
The sky getting dark but we do not perform our prayer yet so, we decided to go to the nearest mosque instead of going back to the hotel. The mosque actually was a place for Luzern muslims to gather. It was placed in the building at the third floor. We perform Maghrib and Isya prayer too. We make friends with local people there. Then, the imam's wife asked us to join her Quran class with other 2 local women, and we feel pleasant to join it. Maryam, one of the students of the class, gave us her contact number, so that, we will stay in touch if we're going back to Egypt or Malaysia. Maryam also has relatives at Alexandria, if Allah wills we will visit her relatives, because it just stone throw away from my sister's house. We shared a lot of stories and during that time I asked her about the advertisement of a woman with niqab. Then she said that, the niqabis had been banned in that country and any woman that still in niqab will be subjected to legal action.

We asked the Imam's wife where is the nearest halal restaurant since we didn't eat at all after the breakfast. She said that the nearest restaurant is too far and the foods are not tasty.  Then, she called her brother who run food business, unfortunately, he do not work at that day. Then, she asked us to follow her to the food store. Since that is a gather place for Luzern Muslims so they have a food store for them. They asked us to choose any food that we like to eat. Then she bring us to their kitchen and cook the food. That night, we saved a little from our budget bcause we got free food from them. They were very nice person, they welcomed us warmly, gave us free food of theirs and invited us to have dinner at their house on next day. I can't post their picture because they asked to do so.

7.00 a.m : -2 degree. We went to Interlaken, Switzerland by train.
10.00 a.m : arrived at Interlaken

On our way to Interlaken, we saw nice panorama of mountain, houses' roof, roads and cars covered with thick snow, a blue lake placed between the mountains, a village that placed between high mountain that hard for sunlight to reach, trees covered with snow instead of leaves, the footsteps on the snow from the house to the road, everything is pure and white, absolutely so cold. The view enough to stop me from sleeping. We arrived and have a walk at Interlaken. We met with a lot of Malaysian people at Interlaken.

Next day, we went to Titlis Mountain which is 3020M from the sea. The temperature at the foot mountain was -1 degree, the thick mist shorten our view. The sunlight couldn't reached the ground because of the thick clouds. We paid 46frank per person to ride the cable car to the peak of the mountain, then, we ride the cable car. All the cable cars behalf on one country, so, you could see all the cable cars have a flag on it including Malaysia. At one point, we passed all the thick cloud and finally we could see the sun lights the mountain, at that point we only see the shoot of the trees, all the body's tress had been covered by snow, we are at the top of all the trees and things we saw during that time was shoot of the trees and mountain covered by snow.
